Started this practice back in 2012 because frankly, I was tired of seeing buildings that looked good on paper but made zero sense for the people actually living in 'em. There's something deeply wrong when you design spaces that ignore how humans actually move, breathe, and exist.
Left a comfortable corporate gig to start this studio in a cramped office above a coffee shop on Queen West. Best decision I ever made, even if my accountant disagreed at the time. Started with residential projects - mostly renovations where clients wanted something that didn't destroy their energy bills.
Got my LEED certification and honestly, it changed how I looked at every single project. Not just slapping solar panels on roofs and calling it sustainable - we're talking passive design, local materials, buildings that work WITH the environment instead of fighting it.
Brought on three incredible architects who actually get it. We moved to our current space on Queen West - more room, better light, and yeah, we practice what we preach with the fitout. Commercial projects started rolling in from clients who'd seen our residential work.
Everyone suddenly cared about indoor air quality and flexible spaces. We'd been designing for this stuff for years, but COVID made it mainstream. Helped a bunch of clients reimagine their homes as multi-functional spaces that actually worked for remote life.
We've grown to a team of eight passionate folks who genuinely care about creating spaces that'll still make sense in 50 years. Projects range from single-family homes to mixed-use commercial buildings, all with that same focus on sustainability and human-centered design that started this whole thing.
Good architecture shouldn't cost the earth - literally. Every project's a chance to prove that sustainable design isn't some luxury add-on, it's just smart building. We're not interested in trends that'll look dated in five years.
Straight talk, no jargon. We'll walk you through every decision because it's your space, not ours. Using BIM tech means fewer surprises during construction, and our project management keeps things on track without the drama.
